One of the sneakiest expenses these days is streaming subscriptions. If you’re like me, you find a reason to need almost every one — and it really adds up. So one of my favorite credit card perks is credits toward streaming subscriptions. If you’ve ever been that passenger asking everyone around you to allow you to disembark before them, then this news from United Airlines will likely excite you. The Chicago-based carrier announced on Wednesday a big expansion to its ConnectionSaver technology, which first debuted back in 2019. As part of the expansion, flyers will see an enhanced connection dashboard in the United mobile app that includes a slew of new features depending on how long your connection is. Perhaps the most exciting enhancement is that you’ll receive a notification if your connecting flight is being held by ConnectionSaver, which is a tool that identifies tight connections and potentially holds connecting flights if the arrival time of the next flight wouldn’t be significantly delayed by a short hold. From now until Friday, you can earn a two-month promotional Companion Pass by booking a single round-trip flight. Here’s how: Register here, then purchase one round-trip or two one-way flights by June 27. Basic fares are not eligible for this promotion. You must travel by Aug. 31.
