Itasca Rock Garden

This post was originally published on this siteItasca Rock Garden Anonymous (not verified) Fri, 03/29/2024 – 16:05 In 1925, John L. Christensen set out to construct a small vegetable cellar. While digging he and his wife began to notice the beauty in the multi-colored stones. Using his team of horses, the excavation grew to what is now Itasca Rock Garden. The site was recently renovated by the Kohler Foundation with more than $500,000 being put into the house, structures and gardens. While the gardens are new as of 2023 with some yet to be planted, the structures, including a large castle, are magnificent. 080ced0dd8531854bda77d92052d8336e96cb1ba.jpg 1 Things to Do Art Museums & Galleries Things to Do Gardens, Orchards, & Farms Things to Do Historic Museums, Sites, & Tours Tourism Information Sources Explore Minnesota Tourism – StateTIC Tourism Information Sources Local Tourism Organizations Southern Minnesota Profile Southern Minnesota Albert Lea POINT (-93.398804 43.675449) This article: Itasca Rock Garden has been curated from our friends at Explore Minnesota and the original in it’s entirety can be found here: https://www.exploreminnesota.com/profile/itasca-rock-garden/34245
