Review: Windstar’s Star Legend cruises Southern Spain – Days 5 to 8

This post was originally published on this siteWindstar‘s Star Legend threads her way through the Mediterranean, sailing through time itself. Millennia of Phoenician legends, Roman roads, Moorish courtyards and Spanish crowns as we cruise from Malaga to Barcelona. Windstar deliver warm and intimate luxury. A small ship journey that begins amongst Málaga’s palms and Picassos, pauses at Gibraltar’s improbable outcrop of red postboxes and Barbary Apes, then drifts towards Cartagena, Valencia, Mallorca and, finally, Barcelona. Each evening, as cocktail ice clinks, Bianca, the destinations manager, offers tempting promises of what lies ahead: epic architecture, local cuisine that tells history’s stories and the culture that runs through Southern Spain’s civilisation. Day 5 – Valencia As first-time visitors, we choose the highlights tour. Others are drawn instead to the kitchen, a masterclass in the original Valencian paella. Chicken and rabbit, not a prawn in sight. They gather herbs and vegetables from a finca garden, then focus on the sacred moment of socarrat: caramelising rice into a crisp irresistible layer.  Valencia thinks boldly. After the devastating floods of 1957, the River Túria was redirected east, and in its old riverbed the city planted a dream of tomorrow. The City of Arts and Sciences rises there now.

Condor Airlines business class: Are Prime seats worth it?

This post was originally published on this site Quick take: Condor Airlines provides a great way to fly between North America and Europe, with decent award availability. Pros Sharp cabin design and competitive seats Service is friendly and efficient Typically good award availability using Alaska Airlines miles Cons Entertainment system’s remote control is tricky Seats could offer a little more privacy Some long-haul routes are seasonal or do not operate daily, which can make timing difficult ERIC ROSEN/THE POINTS GUY Condor Airlines is not really a household name in the U.S., despite its relatively robust route network that includes flights from several U.S. gateways to its main hub in Frankfurt. If you’ve seen a Condor Airlines jet, however, it’s unmistakable, thanks to the airline’s bold, striped livery that was introduced back in 2022 as a rebranding for what was once a low-cost leisure airline. Part of that rebrand included the advent of new business-class cabins and seats that went into service in 2023. Since then, I’ve been hankering to fly the German carrier to experience it for myself. ERIC ROSEN/THE POINTS GUY I finally had the chance this past June when I found an award ticket from Los Angeles to

Almost 3,000 travelers have donated Sampaguita seedlings.

This post was originally published on this siteOut of Town Blog Almost 3,000 travelers have donated Sampaguita seedlings. Megaworld Hotels & Resorts helps communities through the “Petals to Purpose” campaign What began as a symbolic act for Earth Hour has evolved into a meaningful advocacy effort, with guests of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts (MHR) nationwide donating nearly 3,000 Sampaguita seedlings through the “Petals to Purpose” campaign. In March 2025, the campaign coincided with Earth Hour, offering guests the opportunity to purchase a Sampaguita seedling for just Php 60. Megaworld Hotels & Resorts has donated 100 Sampaguita seedlings to Project PEARLS last July 11, 2025 with some seedlings to be nurtured by the families of the young scholars. These seedlings will be planted by the group in various locations and partner communities, fostering sustainability while honoring the Sampaguita, the Philippines’ national flower, and the group’s hospitality brand. As part of this initiative, 100 Sampaguita seedlings were formally handed over to Project PEARLS Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and families through education, healthcare, nutrition, and community development. Love premium economy? United didn’t realize how many travelers did — until now

This post was originally published on this site United Airlines is doubling down on premium economy Expect to see the Chicago-based carrier’s Premium Plus cabin expand over the coming years, with more seats. And more redemption opportunities. Like its top U.S. competitors, United plans to keep adding more high-end seats to its planes, from its Polaris suites to its domestic first-class recliners — not to mention the premium recliners found in the middle of its long-haul planes. Speaking on the company’s second-quarter earnings call Thursday, United’s chief commercial officer, Andrew Nocella, said the airline underestimated how much demand it would see for its premium economy product when it installed the mid-tier cabin beginning in the late 2010s. “We undersized the Premium Plus cabin,” Nocella told analysts. “And that’s a cabin, I think, that’s generating very good returns, and the one that we’ll probably lean more into going forward.” Read more: The best credit cards to use for United flights A United Airlines aircraft on the ground in Palermo, Sicily. ZACH GRIFF/THE POINTS GUY A ‘very exciting’ opportunity United first debuted the seats as a distinct Premium Plus cabin in 2019. It’s a way to offer a higher-end experience than coach

Gulf Air to add New York flights, return to US after nearly 30-year absence

This post was originally published on this site Gulf Air will land in New York in October, returning to the U.S. after nearly three decades. The Bahrain-based carrier will offer thrice-weekly flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) from Bahrain International Airport (BAH) on a Boeing 787-9 from Oct. 1, Gulf Air said July 15. Gulf Air will initially operate from Terminal 1 at JFK before moving to the new Terminal One when it opens around June 2026. New York JFK’s $19B rebuild: The giant, new Terminal One is just a year away The airline last served the U.S. in 1997 with flights to JFK from both Zayed International Airport (AUH) and BAH, schedule data from aviation analytics firm Cirium shows. Gulf Air CEO Jeffrey Goh hinted at a return to the U.S. at the Routes World conference last October. While he declined to say when or where, he indicated that the airline planned to begin flights after meeting all Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Homeland Security requirements. The airline plans to grow to around 75 destinations by the end of the decade, Goh said at the time. Gulf Air today serves 65 destinations, including seasonal
