Whether you like shopping for antiques, learning about pirates and sampling seafood, or celebrating all that autumn has to offer, there’s a memory-making market in store for everyone.

Vintage Market
Saturday, November 2
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If you like restoring old furniture, shopping for vintage clothing, or filling your home with one-of-a-kind antiques, then you don’t want to miss York County’s Vintage Market! The annual event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, at the McReynolds Athletic Complex (MAC), located at 412 Sports Way in Yorktown.

The event features an exciting lineup of nearly 30 local vendors and artists who will be selling everything from crafts, repurposed items, and clothing, to toys, collectibles, and wood art.

Automotive enthusiasts and members of local car clubs, including the Classic Cruisers Car Club of Yorktown and the Historic Virginia Peninsula Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, will have cars from the ‘30s through the ‘70s on display. At past Vintage Markets, owners have brought Model A Fords from the ‘30s, Fords and Chevrolets from the ‘40s and ‘50s, and Plymouth muscle cars from the ‘60s.

Boyd’s Tasty Dogs, Coastal Thirst, and Pop’s Kettle Corn will be serving lunch and snacks throughout the day.

Please remember, the MAC is a non-smoking facility. Service pets only.

For added convenience, a mini–bus will be in service from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to shuttle customers and their purchases to and from their vehicles.

Maritime Festival
Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This two-day event is sure to delight young and old alike. During the Maritime Festival, which is scheduled 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, and Sunday, November 10, at Riverwalk Landing, children can join the Clan MacCool Band for a sea shanties singalong, make crafts for their “mateys,” and get their face painted.

Visitors can observe a pirate encampment, including blacksmith and colonial reenactments throughout the day; attend a rope tying lesson; sample some of the best seafood in the area, including oysters, lobster rolls, and shrimp; or shop for nautical-inspired art and jewelry. Additional educational activities include a Virginia250 history exhibit inside the Freight Shed and free deck tours aboard the tall ships Godspeed and Luna at the Riverwalk Landing Piers. These exciting activities are all in addition to our Yorktown Market Days vendors and food trucks.

Harvest Festival: Saturday, November 16 (photo at top of page)
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This autumn extravaganza features a live animal show, petting zoo, hay rides, crafts, balloon art, inflatable axe throwing, and a pie-eating contest. It all happens at the Harvest Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, at Riverwalk Landing.

Market vendors will be selling the traditional foods you need to make your Thanksgiving a tasteful and unforgettable event. Purchase holiday meal staples like turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans, cornbread, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie. Local jewelry makers, painters, and photographers will also be displaying (and selling) their holiday handiwork. Guests can make a personalized leaf to decorate the LOVE Letters and enter the Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin competition.

Enjoy bluegrass music from Ralph Motley and the Last Minute Grass. The Virginia Living Museum will present the live animal show inside the Freight Shed at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Admission and parking for all events is free. Limited parking is available at the two-level parking terrace on Water Street. If you park on the outskirts of town, at the Courthouse or the County Administration Building, you can ride the free Yorktown Trolley down the hill. The Trolley runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
