What makes us unique?

Although we love traveling as a family, I (Caz) have been traveling around the world on my own for over two decades. Although I love my family and my kids, sometimes I want to travel alone – as a woman, traveling alone can feel empowering, brave, cathartic, and healing. Solo female travel has offered me years of beautiful moments, major screw-ups, and everything in between. Many years of experience has taught me how to stay safe as a solo female traveler on the road, no matter what country you visit. I learned more through experience than you could ever learn in a guide book, but I will do my best to share as many of my tips on staying safe as a solo female traveler as I can. Many people ask me whether it’s safe to travel alone as a woman and the truth is it depends on where you are traveling to, and how wise you are to the dangers. I believe the world is safer than the media portray it to be, you just need to be savvy and smart, and avoid the no-go areas. As long as you follow my advice below, you’ll be able to stay

Bright is a small town in the Victorian High Country that’s known for its picturesque mountain landscape. Although the town is small, there are so many things to do in Bright, and it’s one of Victoria’s most popular destinations – especially for Christmas and around the Bright Autumn Festival. Best known as the gateway to Mount Buffalo National Park and Alpine National Park, there is more to see and do here than just outdoor adventures. Tucked between the salty sea air of the Atlantic and the slow, sweet sway of Old Florida charm, Martin County is a region where you go to coast —not just geographically, but spiritually. Spend your days basking on the beaches of the Treasure Coast, followed by spending barefoot nights drifting like a paddleboarder. It’s a place where the words “rush hour” don’t belong in the theasaurus. Despite its laid-back charm, there are plenty of great things to do in Martin County, especially if you enjoy being on the water. With its “no high-rises, no hype” mantra, Martin County is one of the few places in Florida where you escape the chaos. No trip to Belize would be complete without visiting a Mayan ruin (or two), and one of the most famous of all is Xunantunich, also spelled Xunan Tunich. Nestled near the Guatemala border in Western Belize, Xunantunich (pronounced Shoo-nan-too-nitch) is one of the most accessible and fascinating Mayan ruins in the country, and is famous for having well-preserved stucco pyramids. We toured Xunantunich with the incredible Marvelous Marvin, our guide through Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge, where we stayed as guests for three nights.
