Looking to get off the beaten path and explore while still having dining, shopping and entertainment options at your fingertips? We’ve got just the place for you! These Metro Valley treks are the perfect addition to your next adventure. 1. Ritter Park Loop This trail meanders its way through Ritter Park, a nationally recognized public park famous for its publicly accessible rose garden. In addition to the garden, the 5.2-mile-long route takes hikers by wide open green spaces, a century-old log cabin and the waters of Four Pole Creek. The trail is mostly flat, making for an enjoyable walk. Find downtown Huntington located just a couple blocks away. 2. Guyandotte River Trail This 7.3 mile trail leads hikers alongside the Guyandotte River in Barboursville. Mostly flat terrain and a very easy to follow path makes this an ideal trail for new hikers.
